Our Growth Story
One car in a driveway grows into thousand sold as the most trusted EV dealership in America.
One Car.
Alex Lawrence and Logan Woolley shared an early adopter interest in Teslas. Logan thought a marketplace for people to buy and sell all brands of EVs was the future, and Alex quickly agreed. With a build big or go home approach, they acquired the evcars.com domain and began experimenting. One test included using a dealer license to buy a car at auction and learn more about the dealer process. From that one car and two guys who believed buying an EV should be simple to find, drive and buy, the adventure began.
Proving the Model
Renting a little dumpy location with poor heat and air, one car became ten. Ten became twenty. Operating debt-free and reinvesting 100% of profits, evcars.com became EV Auto. The dealership grew entirely on trust and word of mouth with a simple model: specialize exclusively in electric vehicles, be transparent, no pressure, no weird fees, and create a buying experience that was fast, fun and fair. Customers started driving in from neighboring states. Then flying in. Social media took off, with a growing audience on YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram drawn to the friendly, straightforward, no-nonsense approach. By 2022, EV Auto was regularly carrying 25 to 45 vehicles and had built a perfect Google review rating with referral customers coming in droves.
A Real Home
EV Auto opened its first branded and designed prototype full-service dealership at 612 W. 800 S in Woods Cross, Utah. The facility was designed around one principle repeated since day one: "Not the best car buying experience. The best buying experience anyone has ever had. For anything. Period." Tyler Jones joined as President and Operating Partner, bringing actual automotive operational experience to the growing team. The EV Auto dealership model was unlike traditional lots; one person guides you through the entire process, start to finish. No handoffs, no back office negotiations, no games.
Lehi and EV Service
A second Utah location opened in Lehi, and with it came something new: EV Service, a dedicated service center built specifically for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. Fixed repairs at the shop. Mobile service dispatched via Cybertruck and trailer for customers who couldn't come in. EV Auto wanted to support customers for the life of the vehicle — maintenance, repairs, and everything in between.
Nashville
In September 2025, EV Auto opened its third dealership in Brentwood, Tennessee, the first location outside of Utah. With national expansion plans, Nashville was a natural first fit: a fast-growing market with increasing EV adoption and no dedicated used EV dealership serving the region. And the physical location? An absolute A+. The same trust-first model traveled with it. Same transparent pricing. Same one-person buying experience. Customers across the Southeast who had been following on social media and flying to Utah now had a location closer to home. Month one opened with triple projected sales and continues to grow monthly since.
The EV Group Comes Together
What started as a single dealership became a full ecosystem. EV Auto, now operating under the parent brand The EV Group, expanded into EV Service (dedicated repair centers), EV Acquisitions (Used EV Private Party Acquisition), EV SuperCharging (Tesla SuperCharging stations), and EV Warranties (extended protection plans for used EVs). Mobile service operations launched in Denver, Colorado and Orange County, California. The vision was now being publicly shared — the plan was not just selling great cars, it was supporting the entire EV ownership experience, from the moment someone starts shopping to every mile they drive after.
The Most Trusted Dealership in America
New markets are in development. New partnerships are launching. But the mission hasn't changed since the day a single car sat in a driveway in Utah. EV Auto exists because buying a car shouldn't be stressful, confusing, or adversarial. It should be simple. It should be honest. And you should walk away feeling like you worked with someone who genuinely had your best interest in mind. That's what we're building. In every state we enter and every customer we serve.
